The Mallock Club

2009 Medieval Banquet Report

Medieval Banquet 2009 Rotation

T’was in the month of merriment and winter solstice that the good folk of the ancient Mallock Club did sally forth on there steeds to the darker parts of the county of Northants. There to imbibe of the sustenance of food and the local brewery and be so entertained by the local horsemen and jesters that they did verily have their spirits raised against the cold.

With the Lords, Ladies and Peasants encamped together there was much mirth and banter such that you would consider them to be equals. Yet by dress and eating habits it was clear that some did not possess the elegance and sound character of those more learned amongst them.  Twas of no import though, and the eventide did pass into night and those assembled therein did laugh and drink much ale. Even then when all was consumed it was seen that some did enjoy the music provided by the good host so much that they did dance through to the bewitching hour. This enjoyment was at once a deep joy to behold and provide those that did partake a reminder of the evening on the long weary homeward journey, such was the vastness of the sound.

To those merry men and women who did so much enjoy the evening we give hearty thanks for making the traveling and to those who provide the entertainment we are grateful.

Let us now drink to the next one.
